Cortisol

What is Cortisol?
Cortisol is a hormone that helps your body respond to stress or danger. It helps to regulate your metabolism and also reduces inflammation. Cortisol impacts almost every organ and tissue in your body!

What does Cortisol Do?
Cortisol plays an important role in managing how your body uses carbs, fats and proteins, keeps inflammation down, balances your blood pressure, supports your sleep/wake cycle, boosts your energy and helps you manage stress.

How do I know if my Cortisol is unbalanced?
If you are exposed to too much stress, or stay in a constant state of danger, anxiety or stress, your cortisol levels can get out of whack.   You’ll be able to tell when you notice some of the following concerns:

Increased Anxiety
Mood Swings
Fatigue
Poor Sleep
Puffy, Flushed Face
Weight Gain, especially around the stomach
High Blood Pressure
Acne or Skin Changes
Muscle Aches & Pains
Changes in Libido
Excessive Thirst
Memory and Concentration Problems
Digestion Issues

Does this sound like you? Don’t panic!!
