Pain

As I am still awaiting surgery for my hip, and pain is increasing, it has been quite the experience learning how to manage my pain while avoiding taking presciption pain medication.

Throughout the course of seeking treatment for my hip, I have been offered pain medication upon arriving at the emergency department to which I refused because I wanted to be able to clearly explain to the doctor where I was feeling pain.  I am being treated as part of an urgent hip replacement program in Toronto with anticipate 2-3 weeks for surgery.  I'm now 9 weeks wait time and the pain has gotten increasingly worse with another visit to the emergency.

As of this week, I have asked to be sent anywhere in the province of Ontario to be treated given the Toronto program is not able to assist. Basically, the sports medicine doctor has told me all he can do for me at this time is prescribe me with narcotics to which I have again declined.

I explained my concern with using prescribed pain meds and he agreed that it's a slippery slope.  I advised him that I am using essential oils which target the endocannabinoid system and GABA along with Tylenol Arthritis and an anti-inflammatory (Aleve when I run of the prescribed med) and that my pain is manageable at this state following this protocol.

I take 2 Tylenol Arthritis upon waking
1 Copaiba softgel (inflammation/pain)
1 Adaptiv softgel (GABA)

With breakfast, I take 1 anti-inflammatory

At lunch, 1 Copaiba softgel

3pm: 2 Tylenol

Dinner: 1 Copaiba softgel
1 anti-inflam/Aleve

Before bed: 1 Adaptiv softgel
2 Tylenol Arthritis

I'm using GABA because
